September 2024 Florida: Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene made landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida at about 11:10 p.m. EDT on September 26 2024 as a Category 4 hurricane with ~140 mph sustained winds. It brought record-breaking storm surge and widespread flooding across Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas.

When Hurricane Helene tore through the U.S. Southeast—impacting communities across Florida, Tennessee and surrounding regions—it left behind widespread destruction, disrupted infrastructure, and thousands of families in urgent need of help. In response, Judah 1 mobilized its aviation and logistics teams to deliver immediate, on-the-ground relief where it was needed most.

Using our aircraft, we transported disaster-response teams, medical supplies, relief cargo, volunteers, and ministry partners directly into staging areas that were otherwise difficult to reach due to flooding and infrastructure damage. Our mission extended far beyond transportation: we were there to bring comfort, encouragement, and spiritual support to those reeling from loss.

As communities began the long process of recovering from the storm, Judah 1 stood alongside them—delivering essential resources, supporting local relief efforts, and offering the hope of Christ in a time of deep uncertainty. Our commitment is simple and unwavering: to ensure that no one is left behind, and to serve both the physical needs and the spiritual well-being of every community impacted by the storm.
